Swasbuckling Strata Buckdilly
So last night was quite 'something'. Had a chat with Izham earlier that evening. The first dialogue that popped up was, "Ko nak ikut pegi nengok latte@8 kat starbucks pyramid tak?". So I could'nt refuse. He swung by and picked me up around 11 and then shooed to Faiz's place to pick him up before charging for a parking spot in Sunway.
I guess it's useless for us to be there an hour earlier before it went on-air to get seats because practically, it was majorly patronized by their own posse. Even the production crew took up space that was suppose to be for us 'live' spectators. Then again, the venue was quite small and with all the spotlights, the camera crew and the monitors, the place went from crampy to microscopic. It was quite a hustle to move around the set. I particularly felt like a crew myself with the IXUS and the Handycam in both hands. The only consolation from all the fuss was none other than the hot mamasitas that were lingering everywhere around the set. But the only picture I took was -apart from Faiz & Izham's giddy-ish photo of themselves- a Starbucks cup from several angles.
If you thought that Jason Lo's a funny guy, you might want to experience his antics live. He's explosively hillarious. Marion Caunter looks surprisingly sweet in person and I swear that Rina Omar was checking me out. In an odd way but yeah. The show's second guest was a hottie I bumped to earlier before it started. I was busy catching her on video that I forgot what her name was (Help anyone?). Then came the deciding factor for us to be there. Telebury. And also the fact that Faiz's bro, Adlin was playing with them as well. Adlin seems to have a knack for 'junping' to one band to another. It's his trademark these days. Anyways, Telebury was splendid. Overdrive was a typical Brit-Pop/Rock song but executed majestically with a three giutar attack. With Godspeed Your Love, they're hailed as the saviours of our local Brit-Rock inflicted scene with images of "The next Nice Stupid Playground (NSP)" in mind. But last night they proved themselves to be beyond all that hype. They're far better than the now-defunct NSP. More in the middle Rock or Pop than NSP straightforward-poppiness.
So the night ended soon enough after a quick bite at Ravi's. Thanks again for the ride Izham and it was nice seeing you again Faiz. Laters.
