Drive: The Playlist Vol.6

Fuh. The making of this week's playlist is the thoughest to date. It took me 3 days to figure it out. Hence, resulting in the rojak-est playlist ever.

This week sees an amalgamation of songs on the extremes of each other. Just look at it. Dayang Nurfaizah's Dayang Sayang Kamu (an insanely infectious and cute song by the way) and Robi Rosa's Crash Push (the song) is sandwiched between Cursive's epic Driftwood: A Fairy Tale and LyME's crushing Commode Abode. I'm kinda resurrecting the 'hots' that I once had with Marilyn Manson and Pearl Jam. Both of which accompanied me through my high school years. Kudos to Sherry and Hafeez for the introduction. Also, this week features a track from starsucker and the wide-white band. It's the song that sparked the whole project. Funny to think back that we actually wrote a song before even establishing the collective. Whatmore the song was written during one of our free practice session and was recorded live in one take. Ahh, the rush. I unexpectedly stumbled upon Jim O'Rourke's songs in Kazaa. Lucky me. Killer stuff. Oh, and check out Bell X1 (thanks, Alia). Awesome melancholia. Enjoy.
