Here's where things get ugly.......
Although there were only the 3 of us (Zhaf, Am & myself), we had the time of our life last night. Oh, I'm talking about the faculty dinner by the way. Thanks to Fai who gave us a lift to Ye Ol' FSPU for if it was'nt for him, we'd be soaking wet by the time we get to the foyer. Sticking true to the janji Melayu principles, we departed later than scheduled causing a few moans and whining here and there from the others. We arrived at the venue (Dewan Bandaran Ipoh) just in time for Maghrib but not before a brief tour around town because apparently, the bus driver's experienced communication breakdown mistaking the venue for the brand new hall near Abg. Adam's previous office instead of the old one right infront of the railway station.
I knocked my head on the bus' TV set before setting foot out of the bus. Ouch. The hall's Collonial structure reminded me a lot of KL's Railway Station. And eventually reminded me of home. Arghh. As we walked along, Zhaf & Am quickly noticed that Fuzzy just arrived.
"Pa'an, Pa'an. Fuzzy dah datang. Yeay....!!!"
Heh. I thought so. Those two won't give me a break even for uno noche. Well Fuzzy, if I have'nt said it, you looked beautiful last night. That earring of yours complemented you very well. So after an extensive pre-show photo session (Dominated none other than Ayun herself. You photo vampire, you), we went in. Coincidently, my table is next to Fuzzy's. Virgos unite. It was a night of glitz and glam where you can see a lot of Waheedas and Biendas scattered everywhere. Dat and Zie were both clad in red Chinese costumes. Dat spent RM 130 on his costume alone. Geez. Raqib was bringing out his Paki side and he did it with class. And he still has things to say about me having balls wearing my Telawi treads. Dude, didn't you listen to the music? They played feng tau tracks almost all night long. I'm made for this. Oh, apologies. The theme was Citrawarna. Che looked like a dungeon master in the Arabic/Sikh-like robe, Lokman could easily pass as one of the waiters with the vest that he wore, and Suzann, are you sure you're not a Cindian? The resemblance is uncanny.
The performances was superb. For once, we could be proud of our Part's stage effort. They did a hillarious sketch that was probably inspired by one of the Senario episodes. Having Farouk and Kusut paired up together as an on-stage couple was a killer combination. Heh, the thought of the minute Dayat playing as Kusut's father and the Eric Bana-like Iqbal to play the mother was already whimsical. Fabulous job guys. Kudos. But of all that laughter and transvestism, we could'nt possible top the ones of the Part 5s. Their's was a continuation of last semester's Charlie's Angels series. They brilliantly made a short movie that was a dominant media throughout their whole slot other than a few stage moments. Cha'oi is no doubt, Malaysia's very own Tony Ja (of Ong Bak's fame). His skills was mesmerising. With high-paced action, comedic elements and a neat selection of soundtracks, the night was their's to claim.
We sat a very lucky table but the 3 of us wasn't. Our table had seen Lokman, Din, & Malee claim their lucky draw prizes. The most win for a table that night. Fuzzy was 'pink' in envy. Haha. The moment I overheard the conversation between Fuzzy, Hishe & Oliver about having their class photo taken afterwards, I smiled sheepishly. That was when Fuzzy and I first spoke. It was during last semester's post-show photo session at Ye Ol' FSPU (Where else?). It was something like this.
Fuzzy: Boleh tolong tangkapkan gambar tak?
Me: Boleh, boleh. Sebagai seorang jejaka yang cool dan bergaya, untuk cik adik, apa salahnya. Nama abang, Farhan. Adik ni, single lagi ke?
Okay, that dialogue of mine was exagerrated for the fun of it. We found ourselves laughing when we recalled about it during our early Y! sessions. Nostalgia aside, shortly before the night ended, Ayun called us out for a class photo (And I believe that she's still depriving for more photos). Excluding Fai & Zura, there were only 10 of us. A small, happy, satisfied lot. The only downside of it was me not receving the chocolates Fuzzy dediacted for. But anyways, thanks again, dear! I'm still smiling from ear to ear. Haha. Despite all the fun and memorable times, my IXUS failed on me. The battery lasted only for the 1/4 of the night. Fortunately, everything that was needed were given top priority so basically, no worries. This morning when the rest of the guys saw all the pictures and short clips they were biting their nails and knocking themselves silly for not going. Serves your egos right.
So that ends it all. The fun's over. Only a month left for this semester to draw its curtain. Here's where things get ugly.
Be nice and happy hunting everyone.
-I need you. Whomever you may be. I need you-
