Long Time Coming
Holidays can be the greatest thing that comes around once in a while. Much like having unlimited supplies of Ali Cafe. Hey, whatever works right?
Recently mine came and go. And it's nothing short of blessed contentment. Even with the absence of Ali Cafes (.....need....more...).
Of course, I pre-greeted the whole affair with a slight grunt. I had to spend the first few days of it in Dungun for a cousin's engagement. It's not that I prefer not to go there, it's just timing issues ya know? At least a couple of days at home before anywhere else would be a sufficient pause to the excessive rush in campus. When we arrived, fortunately the rush eased with aplomb. Siti was there. See, when she's around, it's not like I'll be on stalker mode (which clearly explains why there is no photo of her yet) or anything to that effect it's just that she's the best sight for sore, tired eyes. Yes. That simple. We've never even talk yet. Yes. That stupid.
Next up was Azmir's Swiss departure. It felt weird. We're happy for him to leave and pursue his other goals in life. And he's ecstatic that his close buds came to see him off. And that's just it. Everyone was happy. I (potentially all of us) expected for a sob fest once he hugged each and everyone. Or when we're exchanging last words. Or when we were waving at him before he disappered under the gateway passage. But then, nothing. All of us split after that like he was on a weeklong trip to Langkawi. Weird, but somewhat compelling. We're happy for him. That's alright enough.
In between assignments and family time, there's always Telephony Delivery. It's pleasing to finally admit that we're comfortable with our confidence. With Azmir away, we're missing our key instigator. Both me and Adib might be the architects that finishes what we started, Syamil and Azhar are surely the interior designers that make the whole thing appealing but it was Azmir's child-like attentiveness that sparked the birth of every song we wrote. But last week proved that we ourselves are capable of pulling it off on our own. 2 new songs in the space of 2 days sure means something, no? We've been bugged by Bono to jamm at her dad's studio ever since she saw us at Arty Party. We need to give the new tunes a studio test-drive so we chose smoky Saturday night. Sherrin, her (awfully cute) cousin tagged along and sat there in the studio sofa watching us as we unapolegetically abuse their ears with the noise we made. We wrap it up pretty well but not before a photo session with the girls. Heh.
So, my only regret? Not attending Akak's fab lamb chop fest. Timing, timing. Ughh.
Alright. Tests are beckoning. Happy hunting everyone.
